A unique community running event that brings people from all walks of life together, with an emphasis on cooperation and the spirit of giving.
Ananda Yaan is organised by Runner's High Pune — a community of runners who believe that running is a journey towards being a better human being, filled with the joy of self-realisation.
The event raises funds for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. It is managed entirely by volunteers — from aid stations and parking to route logistics, cheering stations, and photography. Being conscious of the environment, we encourage carpooling and make no use of plastic.
To us, running is more than exercise — it is a journey towards being a better human being. Ananda Yaan channels that spirit into action.
Ananda Yaan raises funds for Sai Vishwanath Memorial Trust, which supports the social initiatives of Runner's High — from nutrition and running shoes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, to helping families and NGOs with basic needs.
Ananda Yaan is managed entirely by volunteers — from aid stations and route logistics to cheering stations and photography. The event grows through word of mouth, driven by the spirit of cooperation and giving. Everyone who participates becomes part of something bigger than a run.
We want to encourage more people to take up running. Ananda Yaan is designed to be affordable and accessible to all — an event where everyone from first-time runners to seasoned athletes can participate, built purely on cooperation and a spirit of giving.
With each running initiative we undertake in schools, we see change in children's lives — beyond just health and fitness. Our goal is to make running a normal part of their lives. We have published articles in Teacher Plus, a well-known magazine by educationists, about our work in sports and physical activities for children from varied backgrounds.

Know more →In the academic year 1994–95, Mr. Trimbak Baravkar laid the foundation of Adarsh Primary School in Dalvinagar, B.T. Kawade Road, Ghorpadi, with just 14 students in his own residence. Thanks to its excellent quality of education, the number of students grew rapidly, creating a need for more space. To meet this demand, three gunthas of land were purchased from Mr. Dalvi in the same locality. With the generous support of Mr. Babasaheb Shirke, owner of the Shirke Company, and several other benevolent individuals, a three-storied building with eight classrooms was constructed.
The school’s strong academic reputation soon attracted students from nearby areas such as Shirke Nagar, Bhimnagar, Shinde Vasti, Jahangir Nagar, and Dobadwadi, as well as from across B.T. Kawade Road.
In response to the growing demand, Adarsh Secondary School was established in 1999. As the student strength continued to rise and the school maintained its proud tradition of 100% results in Grade 10, additional space became essential. To accommodate this, another six gunthas of land were acquired. With the support of social organizations such as the Lions Club and Rotary Club, twelve new classrooms were built. To nurture the creative and intellectual development of students, facilities like the Adarsh Kala Manch (Cultural Forum), Library, and Science Laboratory were established. Separate toilets for boys and girls were also constructed to ensure hygiene and comfort. Today, Adarsh School stands proud with 20 spacious classrooms, a large playground, over 1,080 students, and a dedicated team of 30 teachers and non-teaching staff who continue to uphold the school’s mission of providing quality education and holistic development
The objectives of the school are as follows:
The kids in the school are aged 6 to 14; usually, they come from under-privileged section of the society. As they have mental disabilities, special care is needed as some of them can’t express themselves with normal feelings. The school has well trained staff for their care and education and has following strength:
The school has a rented building with basic facilities such as, community hall, separate rooms for boys and girls, kitchen, classrooms for different age groups and special arrangements for handicapped mental disabilities kids. It also has a small ground where kids are taught games according to their capabilities. School also celebrates all type of festivals for kids to know and learn. School and the staff members are committed for supporting underprivileged mentally challenged children and continue to do so in the future.
